Residential Painters & Decorators in London

Residential decorating is the heart of what we do — over 500 London homes finished, from single-room refreshes to full pre-sale repaints and post-renovation snagging.

Overview

Residential Painting across London

A home is different from a commercial job. You live in it. Your kids and dogs live in it. The decorator is in your space, opening your cupboards, using your kettle. That reality shapes how we run residential work: we protect everything, we're punctual, we tidy every evening, and we don't play music loud enough to hear from the next room. It sounds obvious — it isn't universal.

Every London home has its quirks. Victorian conversions in Crouch End have lath-and-plaster ceilings that crack every winter. New-build flats in Wood Green have flat plaster that soaks up mist coats unpredictably. Georgian townhouses in Islington and Camden have layered paint 150 years deep that needs stripping in places. We've seen it all — and we quote honestly for what your specific home actually needs.

We handle everything from moving-in refreshes ('paint everything white before we bring the sofa in') to full multi-room repaints coordinated with a designer, to pre-sale decorating aimed at a specific asking price. Talk to us about what you're trying to achieve, not just what colour you want.

Our process

How a typical residential job runs

  1. 01

    Visit & scope

Room-by-room walk-through, honest conversation about what needs doing vs. what would be nice to do.

  2. 02

    Fixed quote

Broken down by room with paint spec and finish level so you can flex the scope without renegotiating.

  3. 03

    Live-in-friendly schedule

Sequenced so you always have a bedroom, bathroom and kitchen to use.

  4. 04

    Finish & snag

Full walk-round together at the end — we fix anything you notice on the spot.

FAQs

Residential Painting questions, answered

Do you work with interior designers?+

Regularly. We're happy to work to a designer's schedule, colour palette and finish spec, and to attend site meetings during the job.

Can you help pick colours?+

Yes — we can advise on tone and finish based on the room's light and use, and put sample boards on the wall so you see the actual colour before committing.

Are the paints safe around children and pets?+

We default to low-VOC water-based paints in family homes. If you need zero-VOC we'll spec Little Greene Intelligent or Farrow & Ball Modern Emulsion.

How much notice do you need?+

For single-room work usually 1–2 weeks. For full-house repaints, 4–6 weeks in busy periods (spring and pre-Christmas).
