Overview

Interior Painting across London

Interior painting looks simple until you're the one living around dust sheets and roller marks. The difference between a decent job and a professional finish is almost entirely in the preparation — filling every hairline crack, caulking every gap where wall meets skirting, sanding between coats and cutting straight lines by hand. We spend more time prepping than painting, which is why our interiors still look sharp five years in.

We work across every kind of London interior: Victorian conversions in Islington and Hackney with lath-and-plaster walls that need careful patch repairs; new-build flats in Wood Green and Tottenham that need a proper mist coat before topcoats; period stucco in Belgravia and Chelsea where the finish has to match a heritage aesthetic. Whatever you're painting, we specify the right primer, undercoat and topcoat system so the paint bonds properly and the sheen looks even under London's low winter light.

Premium trade paints only — Dulux Trade, Farrow & Ball, Little Greene, Zinsser and Tikkurila. We'll happily colour-match, work to a designer's schedule, or advise on tones if you're stuck between three tester patches at 9pm on a Sunday.

FAQs

Interior Painting questions, answered

How much does it cost to paint a room in London?+

A standard double bedroom typically runs £350–£550 depending on prep needs, ceiling height and number of coats. Kitchens, bathrooms and hallways with lots of trim cost more because of the extra cutting-in. You'll always get a fixed written quote before we start.

How long does interior painting take?+

A single room is usually 1–2 days including prep and two topcoats. A full three-bed house — walls, ceilings and trim — is typically 6–10 working days depending on colour changes and how much filling is needed.

Do we need to move out?+

No. We work room by room, protect floors and furniture, and clean down every evening. Most clients stay put throughout.

What paints do you use?+

Dulux Trade Diamond Matt for walls in high-traffic areas, Farrow & Ball or Little Greene where the client wants a specific palette, Zinsser primers for stains and new plaster, and Tikkurila for high-durability woodwork.

Can you match a colour I already have?+

Yes — either from a paint chip, a photo, or a small sample of the original. We can also take a scan at the paint counter for anything discontinued.
